Position Descriptions

The Center for Simulation of Advanced Rockets is located at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and funded by the U.S. Department of Energy's Academic Strategic Alliances Program. The focus of the Center is on integrated computational simulation of complex systems that require an interdisciplinary approach, with specific emphasis on whole-system simulation of solid propellant rockets. Research and development activities at the Center involve a broad range of disciplines including combustion, fluid dynamics, solid mechanics, materials science, and all areas of computer science. The Center employs scientists, engineers, and programmers in the following personnel categories:

Current Openings

There is a continuing need for qualified personnel in any or all of the position categories listed above, and specific openings can occur at any time. Well-qualified researchers in computational science and engineering with education and experience directly relevant to simulation of advanced solid propellant rockets are invited to apply. Special skills sought include parallel programming experience, advanced engineering applications (computational fluid dynamics, computational structural mechanics, combustion, and energetic materials), or recent research involvement in the U.S. Department of Energy's Defense Programs Laboratories.
