The Center for Simulation of Advanced Rockets is located at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and funded by the U.S. Department of Energy's Academic Strategic Alliances Program. The focus of the Center is on integrated computational simulation of complex systems that require an interdisciplinary approach, with specific emphasis on whole-system simulation of solid propellant rockets. Research and development activities at the Center involve a broad range of disciplines including combustion, fluid dynamics, solid mechanics, materials science, and all areas of computer science.
