Key responsibilities of this position are to provide coordination and leadership in relevant areas of science and engineering for the development and implementation of large-scale simulations on various supercomputing platforms, serve as a liaison between Center research staff and DOE and its Laboratories, track research activity in relevant areas of computational science and engineering, supervise research activities of research assistants and post-doctoral research associates, present research results through publication of scientific papers, conference presentations, and technology demonstrations.
Requirements: A PhD degree in a technical field (or M.S. degree and equivalent experience) is required with a minimum of five years related work experience employing a variety of technical applications, publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and conference presentations.
The successful candidate will be abreast of technical developments in relevant technical areas, including computing technology as well as appropriate fields of science and engineering and will be capable of independent research and problem solving while maintaining close interaction with other research groups. The candidate will have proven supervisory skills with detailed knowledge of relevant technical area of science, engineering, and computer technology, broad knowledge of hardware, system software, and applications software for advanced scientific computing, proven management skills with the ability to collaborate in a variety of relevant disciplines.
Up to two positions are available. The minimum salary is $50,000.
